Medication data is among the most sensitive data there is. Our answer is architectural: if your data never leaves your device, it can't be leaked, sold or subpoenaed from us.
No account, no cloud profile
ShotLock works fully without sign-up. There is no ShotLock server holding your shots, weight, photos or notes — they live in your device's storage, protected by your device's encryption.
What does leave your device
We create an "anonymous" identifier for your device that has no personally identifiable information tied back to you. We use this identifier to confirm your subscription or one-time purchase so you can access premium features.
We also store app diagnostics (crashes) so we know what bugs to fix. We also keep a count of how many total doses all users have taken — but we never store any information against that count, like who you are or what medication was used. It's just a count so we know things are working. If you contact support, submit a feature request, or vote on a feature, we have to store that. That's the whole list.
Even though we don't have any real data on you, if you request your data to be deleted in the app, we will delete the anonymous identifier we created for you so you can start fresh — and all data tied to that identifier will be deleted.
This website follows the same rules
shotlockapp.com uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookies we set — and only with your consent — remember your theme and language. Decline them and the site simply follows your device settings.
Your data is portable
Export a clean PDF for your clinician or your raw data for yourself at any time. Deleting the app deletes your data. No dark patterns, no retention games.
